Penistone Local Food and Farmers' Market

The first market of 2012 was held on a bright and crisp morning, and whilst the we had fewer stall holders than expected, they put on a great display nonetheless and the shoppers were appreciative.

For the February market we will have all the usual stallholders including Potts Bakers, Two Valleys and Snowden Hill Water Buffalo, and not forgetting Granny B's Kitchen Bakery for fabulous tasty treats, Avid Organics and Chef on a Bike. Come and talk to them all and they will tell you the story of their produce - we really are here for you! So remeber to come along in February to have a look at what we have, there is bound to be something that you will like and possibly even love!

We have a range stallholders lined up for the market on 11th February including our regulars

Granny B's - cakes, savouries and breads
Melanie's Chox - hand made chocolates every day indulgence
Potts Bakers - breads including organic breads, morning goods and so much more.
Two Valleys - sausage and bacon and lots more
Snowdon Hill Water Buffalo - something different and very tasty and low in cholesterol too!! Cath is the one to talk to here
Two Roses Brewery - Jim has fabulous local beer
Simply Cheese - Marc is the man to talk to. Hackinghill Farm Shop - from Cubley so local food was never closer
And we have had enquiries from some more new stall holders who we are currently talking with so there could be more!

As ever we are still keen on attracting new stallholders, so if you are a customer visiting other markets, please encourage the stallholders that you like to get in touch with us - if you like what the stallholder has, the chances are lots of others will too!!

When? - Every second Saturday of the month. The dates for the next few markets are:-

Saturday 10th March 2012
Saturday 14th April 2012

Where? - In the Market Place off Market Street in the centre of Penistone, except for September, when the market is in the Food Tent in the Penistone Show**. Click here for a location map

What Time? - The market officially starts at 9.00am and finishes at 1.00pm, although the early bird catches the worm! Many stall holders are at the market from around 8.00am and will serve you if you need to be there early and then get away!

** Penistone Show is held on the second Saturday of September each year. It is a fabulous day out for all the family and has been part of the Penistone social scene for over 100 years. There is an entry fee payable to gain entrance to the show. We have put a link to the Penistone Show website on the Links Page.
